Develop new performance skills and build your confidence with Q Theatre’s interactive drama workshops for ages 5 – 18 at The Joan. Dive into the world of musical theatre or join us for our special drama for change workshop to learn how to harness the transformative power of theatre and amplify your voice through interactive drama, improvisation and creative writing.

Plus, our all-day themed workshop packages for ages 5 – 8 and 9 – 12 return due to popular demand! Featuring three immersive sessions each, these workshops will allow you to discover the magic of captivating storytelling, costume and props through a range of imaginative drama games and hands-on activities. Head to Penrith Regional Gallery for an exciting program of art workshops for ages 3 – 12 and to explore our exhibitions. From sand sculptures, to felt artworks and colourful lanterns, each session is inspired by and includes a visit to one of the Gallery’s current exhibitions, including ARTEXPRESS and Diana Baker Smith’s colourful installation, This Place Where We Dwell. Don’t forget to stop by for our free drop-in artmaking in the Loungeroom Gallery during your visit!

Drama Workshops at The Joan

For Ages 5 – 8

• Fairytale Sing-A-Long: Drama Workshop on Tuesday 9 July, 1pm – 3pm. All tickets $40.
• Where in the World? Drama Workshop Package on Thursday 11 July. Workshops include Journey to the Wild (9am – 11am), Lost in Outer Space (11:30am – 1:30pm) and Underwater Tales (2pm – 4pm). Workshop Package (includes all three workshops) $90, or individual workshops $40 each.

For Ages 9 – 12

• Pop Idol Academy: Singing and Acting Workshop on Tuesday 9 July, 9am – 12pm. All tickets $55.
• Hidden Realms: Drama Workshop Package on Wednesday 10 July. Workshops include The Time Travel Pod (9am – 11am), The School of Magic (11:30am – 1:30pm) and The Monsters Hideout (2pm – 4pm). Workshop Package (includes all three workshops) $90, or individual workshops $40 each.

 For Ages 13 – 15

• Act Up! Drama for Change Workshop on Tuesday 9 July, 1pm – 4pm. All tickets $55.

For Ages 13 – 18

• Curtain Up: Musical Theatre Workshop on Monday 8 July, 9am – 4pm. All tickets $115.
