Term Workshops
Inspire creativity from an early age with our term workshops, designed for children aged 3 months to 12 years, offering engaging, hands-on art experiences in a fun and supportive environment.

School Holiday Workshops
Penrith Regional Gallery offers creative, hands-on art workshops during school holidays, inspired by current exhibitions and led by experienced artist educators; each session includes a guided exhibition visit and all necessary materials.

Penrith Open Studio
Penrith Open Studio is a program for young creatives aged 13 – 17 to develop their artistic practice and connect with their local art gallery. Participants are supported to curate a group exhibition through artist led workshops, exhibition visits, behind the scenes tours, and mentorship from practicing artists and arts workers

Penrith Youth Art Prize
The Penrith Regional Gallery Youth Art Prize is an annual exhibition aiming to recognise, encourage and celebrate the creative talent of young artists in our local community.
The 2026 theme ‘transformation’ encourages artists to reflect on transformation in their own worlds — how people, places, objects, or ideas shift, grow, and evolve over time.
Entries open: 20 April – 9 June 2026
Exhibition Dates: 27 June – 9 September 2026
Work Experience
Our work experience program offers students in year 10 – 12 the chance to explore the inner working of a regional art gallery and gain insight into the diverse range of careers within the arts including visitor services, collection management, curatorial, learning, and public programs.
The program is offered during select periods in terms 2, 3 and 4. Limited places are available, and preferred dates may not be possible. A maximum of 2 placements will be offered per school, each year.
