Painting Nature for 9-12 years

Take a closer look at the natural world through a guided art workshop. Young artists will explore selected artworks from the Biennale of Sydney exhibition before heading outdoors for guided nature journaling exercises in the garden. Through observational drawing, note-taking and close looking, participants will record sounds, textures, patterns, light and movement.

Back in the studio, these studies will become the foundation for an acrylic painting on canvas. Students will experiment with composition, colour mixing and layering techniques to translate their observations into expressive works.

This workshop nurtures creative thinking, technical skills and confidence, guided by our experienced artist educators.
