Amy Jones’ work is based on botanical references, both abstract and figurative. She seeks to explore the notion of memory and change over time, creating dreamlike, abstracted gardens. Jones’ current series “Lost Gardens” is an exploration of the way that the passing of time is embedded within the landscape, and how our relationship to the natural world can connect us with our history. Jones works primarily in textiles, using a mixture of new and recycled materials.
Jones has exhibited throughout Australia, is a regular host of Sydney Craft Week events in the inner west and teaches textile art and embroidery workshops throughout Australia. She is also a qualified Visual Arts and Design Teacher.
