MEGAPIXEL assembles the artwork of Alison Feilen, Ahditaya Moechtar, Albert McKenzie, Chris Whiticker, and Ruth Matthews, who all live with disability and are connected to or based in North St Marys.

Supported by Penrith Council’s Magnetic Places Grant and No Boundaries Art Group, the year-long project gave several participants the chance to explore new digital skills including digital drawing, animation, photo editing, music making and more.

MEGAPIXEL is a celebration of access, voice, and community. Each artist transforms the humble pixel into a unique expression, whether through image, story, movement, text, or even digital photos printed on fabric in order to create a large-scale memory quilt; showing how digital creativity, access and literacy can build confidence, self-expression, connection, and inclusion.

No Boundaries are a group that meet regularly at Lewers, brought together by their love of making art and a shared belief in its capacity as a means of self expression.

Alison Feilen has been cataloguing and editing her digital photography, which has lead to a major quilting project using her photos printed on fabric to create a large-scale memorial quilt to a beloved family member.

Ahditaya Moechtar  has been attending North St Marys sessions, learning digital drawing and animation on iPad, and most recently had a one-on-one mentoring session with western Sydney Musician/artist George Tillianakis to create a soundtrack to his animation.

Albert McKenzie has been attending North St Mary’s session all year, with a focus on developing both his digital comic drawing skills and animation techniques. Hid goal for the project is to produce a printed comic book called ‘Albert’s Amazing Art’.

Chris Whiticker has been learning digital drawing using Procreate app with me, and more recently, some animation over video techniques (rotoscoping).

Ruth Matthews has learnt digital painting skills and has a dream of selling her works on shirts and tote bags, and more, whilst promoting the work of artists with autism. She has learnt how to design her business logo as part of this program.
