Salary: LGA Level 4 $$35.15p/h ($28.15 base + 25% casual loading)
Casual Gallery Educators assist the Learning Coordinator deliver Gallery learning programs including term and school holiday workshops, school excursions, public programs and events. Gallery Educators provide rich and engaging art experiences to a range of different audiences including children, families, adults, early childhood groups, primary and secondary school groups, and tertiary students. Programs take place across a seven day week, including weekends and evenings. Penrith Regional Gallery follows an inquiry-based learning approach and values participant-led art experiences.
Suited to a motivated, well organised individual who is both an able team player and able to work independently, casual Gallery Educators must be well presented, skilled communicators who are able to be the willing and friendly face of the organisation.
The casual Gallery Educator:
- provides professional learning experiences at the gallery and acts as the interface between the Gallery site, exhibition programs and the Public
- assists in the delivery of Gallery workshops, tours, learning activities and events
- reports to and takes direction from the Gallery’s Learning Coordinator and/or Public Programs Coordinator; and
- works to support, and in collaboration with, other Gallery staff
There are two casual positions available. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience working with the 0-5 year old age group and their families.
