Submissions are now open for the Penrith Youth Art Prize.
Penrith Youth Art Prize returns in 2024 to foster and celebrate the creative talent of young artists in our community. The theme for the 2024 prize is ‘colour stories’.
Drawing inspiration from Margo Lewers’ and her fascination with colour, we are asking artists to tell a story through colour. Artists may want to create a colourful artwork, or consider how colour can create mood, evoke emotions, or conjure memories.

The prize includes four categories; lower primary (5 – 8 yrs); upper primary (9 – 12 yrs); secondary (13 – 17 yrs); and youth (18 – 25 yrs).
Submissions are open to artists living in Penrith, or who have a connection to Penrith and the Gallery. Artists can use any two-dimensional medium of their choice, including but not limited to pencil, pen, pastel, ink, marker, watercolour, paint, natural dye, photography, collage, or a combination of media.
Submissions must be no larger than A3 and no thicker than 1cm.
For schools, we strongly encourage you to first run your own internal competition then submit only your top works (up to 10) into the Youth Art Competition.

PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to one winner from each age category.
$100 art material vouchers – lower and upper primary category winners.
$200 voucher – secondary category winner
$500 prize – youth category winner.
