We are pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Moran as the new Gallery Manager of Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery.
Michael is a curator and arts leader with two decades of experience in the sector. His practice is grounded in community and not-for-profit spaces and draws on work across institutional, collecting and government organisations in both metropolitan and regional areas. A consistent thread throughout his career has been the championing of artists’ agency through supportive commissioning programs.
From 2017, Michael served as Head of Curatorial & Collections at Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA), where his work has positioned the regional arts centre within important national cultural dialogues.
His broader leadership and governance experience includes:
- Board member, Murray Arts, Regional Arts Development Network
- Visual Arts board member, CreateNSW (since 2023)
- Founding director (special non-member director), Blak Circle Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation
Michael will bring his artist-centred and community-focused approach to Lewers, leading an organisation that is deeply connected to Western Sydney and that promotes the exchange of ideas across the continent and globally.
Please join us in welcoming Michael to the team.
