Art, architecture & garden design at Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery.

Artist Margo Lewers once said that wandering around the garden she designed at Emu Plains, with its multiple forms, colours and textures, was ‘just as exciting to me as putting paint to paper’.

This curator-led guided tour of Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery, considers the way that, for Margo, there was little distinction between house and garden, life and art, and that even something as prosaic as a bathroom floor could be a modernist masterpiece.

Discover artworks that are hidden in plain sight, and learn more about the Lewers’ transformation of a former pig farm on the Nepean River into a centre for modernity in architecture, art and design.
