How can everyday objects tell new stories? In Plaster Sculpture, young artist will explore selected works in the Biennale of Sydney exhibition, considering how contemporary artists transform ordinary materials to communicate ideas and meaning.

Drawing on these examples, participants will experiment with composition, symbolism and arrangement to reimagine familiar household objects in unexpected ways. Through the process of designing and casting a relief sculpture in plaster, students will think carefully about how placement, repetition and contrast can shift the meaning of everyday forms.

This workshop builds technical skills in casting while encouraging critical thinking and conceptual development, supporting older primary students to create thoughtful and unique sculptural works.
