LGA Level 5 ($33.15 per hour)
Located at Penrith Regional Gallery, Home of the Lewers Bequest
Fixed Term – Part-time, 15 hours per week (2-3 days, with a negotiated increase to 5 days per week during install periods)
Some weekend and evening work required

Penrith Performing & Visual Arts is looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Technician for Penrith Regional Gallery, Home of the Lewers Bequest. This position requires flexibility and patience, good communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritise. It requires a high level of construction techniques and AV expertise, as well as experience working in a museum or gallery environment and ability to apply those industry standards of presentation and handling.

The Lead Technician is an able multi-tasker, who is practical with an eye for detail, highly organised and with broad skills across gallery technical requirements. Part of a multi-disciplinary team including designers, registrars, curators and installation staff, the Lead Technician facilitates the Gallery’s technical needs on an ongoing basis and provides technical information and skills as a resource to support the Registrar and Curatorial Programs Manager.

If you are a problem solver, with knowledge and experience of collection management procedures including object care and handling, mount-making, conservation principles and practices and environmental requirements, we’d love to hear from you.
