Explore our current exhibitions at your own pace with a free 15-minute introduction provided by a Gallery staff member or volunteer.

Suitable for Preschool – Year 12

Enjoy a tour and discussion of our current exhibitions and activities tailored to your students, led by our Gallery educators.

GUIDED EXHIBITION TOUR AND ARTMAKING IN THE STUDIO
Suitable for Preschool – Year 12

Take your Guided Exhibition Tour to the next level by adding a 60-minute artmaking workshop in our creative art studio. The workshop will be aligned to the themes of the exhibition.

Explore our collection

SCULPTURE IN THE GARDEN
Suitable for Kindergarten – Year 6

Discover the highlights of our heritage site from the home and garden of Margo and Gerald Lewers to our Collection of outdoor sculptures. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own three-dimensional artworks in the studio.

This program can be tailored to connect with visual arts and/or history topics.

COLLECTION UP CLOSE
Suitable for Year 7 – 12 and Tertiary Students

Experience the Gallery’s rich collection of artworks from Modernist paintings and sculptures to works by contemporary Indigenous artists in a behind-the-scenes tour of our Collection store.

This program can be tailored to showcase artworks relevant to a study area of your choice and is the perfect springboard for conversations about collection management and careers in museums and galleries.

Professional Development for Teachers

The Gallery offers tailored workshops for early childhood, primary and secondary educators focused around our exhibitions and collection. These sessions incorporate activities to build visual literacy and artmaking skills with students, and can be offered at the Gallery or your school.

Booking Conditions

All Early Learning, Primary, Secondary and Home School groups require a booking when visiting the Gallery. This includes paid and free events.

School bookings must be made a minimum of four weeks ahead of the exhibition.

After submitting your online booking, our Learning Coordinator will call or email you at their earliest convenience to discuss the details of your booking. A confirmation of your booking will be emailed to you within seven working days of the Learning Coordinator initially contacting you.

Changes to numbers, dates and times can be made (subject to availability) up to seven working days prior to your booking and must be submitted in writing to gallery.learn@penrith.city.

If you have booked a paid program, an invoice will be emailed to your school the day prior to your excursion. All paid events will incur a $5 booking fee as stipulated on the online booking form.

In the event you wish to cancel your booking, seven working days’ notice is required, otherwise the cost of your excursion will be charged in full.
