Watercolour Fundamentals

Adult Workshop with Kevser Ugurlu

Set in the Gallery studio, join artist Kevser Ugurlu to explore the fundamentals of the watercolour medium. Participants will learn about key watercolour techniques, such as dry/wet-on-wet and layering, brush manipulation, and colour theory. This workshop is ideal for beginners with little or no experience in the watercolour medium. Participants will leave with their experimentations and a resolved artwork exploring local connections to the Nepean River and lower Blue Mountains region.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Kevser Ugurlu’s artistic journey began in her hometown in Turkey, where she first discovered her love for art. Starting with sketching human figures and experimenting with watercolours, she developed a deep connection to painting and creative expression from a young age. After years of honing her design skills in Japan—creating logos, posters, and illustrations for books—Kevser rediscovered her passion for painting and drawing. Now settled in Australia, she has embraced her love for watercolours, combining years of artistic experience with a fresh perspective.
