Shades of Blue – NSW Police Force Art Exhibition

Giving police artists the opportunity to have their work shown in a professional gallery setting and also provides an opportunity for the community to purchase original artwork.

Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest is hosting Shades of Blue during the White Ribbon Campaign to support the importance of communities and workplaces raising awareness about breaking the cycle of violence against women.

With over 50 creative art works including paintings, drawings, photography, and textile art, the artists draw their inspiration in many ways – family, an early morning breeze, our country side or even a tidy garage.  The exhibition will have you thinking differently about police officers and the police profession.

Shades of Blue gives police artists the opportunity to have their work shown in a professional gallery setting and also provides an opportunity for the community to purchase original artwork.

Friends of the Gallery will provide a white ribbon to exhibition guests to tie on a tree branch to honor a true ambassador for violence against women  – Sabine Altman, and also as a visual symbol of their support of the importance of raising awareness and breaking the cycle of domestic violence against women. Friends of the Gallery will also have a Christmas stall on 3 December and will be accepting donations for the White Ribbon Organisation.
