Leading ceramic artist Vipoo Srivilasa invites you to participate in a public art project and uncover your inner Power Healer Superhero in a fun drawing workshop at Penrith Regional Gallery.
Vipoo wants to know…
“What does a Power Healer Superhero look like to you, what are your Superhero’s unique abilities that heal and cure sickness?”
Vipoo seeks a new kind of hero representing hope and empowerment, he will select up to ten of the most inspiring superheroes and their stories to incorporate into his public art design. If your superhero is selected, you will receive an artist fee of $250.
Everyone is welcome, especially the local community, participants will be encouraged to draw on folk tales and childhood stories from your cultural heritage as inspiration. Your superhero should have a healing power that directly connects to the participants’ personal stories or experiences.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Vipoo Srivilasa: Thai-born Australian artist, recognised as a leader in the field of ceramics. Over the past two decades, Vipoo has made works that engage with complex questions of queerness, migration and spiritual meaning, using an aesthetic and medium that is accessible, positive and beautiful.
