Installation artist Sarah Goffman transforms Lewers House into a series of tea rooms and simulated domestic interiors referencing Japanese and Australian aesthetic traditions. Using recycled plastics and other found objects sourced from the Penrith area, Goffman’s site-specific creations engage with the history of the homestead; its surrounding gardens; and the art of former resident Margo Lewers who shared Goffman’s fascination with and connection to Japan.
